Pay Rate: £120–£160 per day DOE

Start Date: ASAP, covering maternity leave

Contract: Full-time, Long-term, Monday to Friday

Cover People are recruiting a Vocational Skills Teacher for a secondary alternative provision hub in Egerton, Bolton, supporting young people with SEMH needs.

Can you engage young people who struggle in a traditional classroom?

This role is ideal for an experienced HLTA, Instructor, SEMH Teacher or Unqualified Teacher who can confidently lead a class, manage behaviour and deliver engaging vocational and practical lessons.

You'll help young people develop practical skills while embedding literacy, numeracy, communication, independence and life skills into everyday learning.

The Role

• Lead classes and manage behaviour confidently
• Deliver engaging vocational and practical sessions
• Plan activities around individual needs and abilities
• Embed literacy and numeracy into lessons
• Develop communication, independence and life skills
• Build positive relationships with SEMH learners
• Use practical activities to re-engage pupils in learning
• Work closely with teaching and pastoral teams

The Ideal Candidate

• Experience working with young people in education or training
• HLTA, Instructor, SEMH Teacher or Unqualified Teacher background considered
• Confident leading a class and managing challenging behaviour
• Experience supporting young people with SEMH needs
• Able to deliver practical, vocational or activity-based learning
• Confident embedding English and Maths into lessons
• Calm, resilient and consistent
• Creative, engaging and passionate about helping young people succeed
