About the Role
Our client is seeking a proficient VoIP Systems Administrator to join their entirely remote IT infrastructure team, focusing on the seamless operation of voice communication systems within the telecoms sector. In this critical role, you will be responsible for the deployment, maintenance, and support of our voice platforms, ensuring reliable and high-quality communication services for our distributed workforce. You will work independently and collaboratively with other IT professionals to manage the VoIP environment, troubleshoot issues, and implement upgrades. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to essential communication services in a dedicated remote setting.
Key Responsibilities
- Administer and maintain the company's VoIP telephony systems, including PBX, gateways, and related hardware/software.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot connectivity issues, and resolve user support requests related to voice services.
- Implement new VoIP features, user accounts, and configurations as per business requirements.
- Ensure the security and stability of the VoIP network, applying patches and updates as necessary.
- Develop and maintain documentation for VoIP system configurations, procedures, and troubleshooting guides.
- Collaborate with network and systems teams to ensure integrated performance of communication services.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 3-5 years of experience in managing and supporting VoIP systems , such as Cisco Call Manager, Asterisk, or similar platforms.
- Strong understanding of telecoms protocols like SIP, H.323, and RTP.
- Familiarity with network infrastructure, including LAN/WAN, QoS, and firewalls relevant to VoIP.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work autonomously in a remote role.
- Experience with voice quality monitoring and analysis tools.
