About the Role

Our client, a well-established charity making a significant impact in Milton Keynes , is looking for a dedicated and organised Volunteer Coordinator . This role is essential for managing and supporting the network of volunteers who are the backbone of our operations. You will be responsible for recruiting, training, scheduling, and motivating volunteers, ensuring they have a positive and fulfilling experience while contributing to our mission. The successful candidate will be passionate about community involvement and possess excellent interpersonal skills to foster a strong volunteer spirit within the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement effective strategies for volunteer recruitment and retention.
• Screen, interview, and onboard new volunteers, providing comprehensive orientation and training.
• Coordinate volunteer schedules and assignments across various programs and events.
• Provide ongoing support, supervision, and recognition for volunteers.
• Maintain accurate records of volunteer hours, activities, and impact.
• Liaise with program staff to identify volunteer needs and ensure appropriate placements.
• Organise volunteer appreciation events and initiatives.

Requirements

• Previous experience in volunteer management or coordination is highly desirable.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills.
• Ability to recruit, train, and motivate individuals from diverse backgrounds.
• Proficiency in using database software for record-keeping.
• A genuine passion for the non-profit sector and community service in Milton Keynes .
