About the Role
Our client, a well-established name in the Charity & Voluntary sector , is seeking an experienced and dedicated Volunteer Manager to lead their volunteer program in Leeds . This vital role focuses on the recruitment, training, support, and ongoing engagement of our valued volunteers, who are essential to delivering our services and achieving our mission. You will be responsible for creating a positive and rewarding volunteering experience, ensuring our volunteers feel supported, motivated, and recognized for their contributions. This position requires a strong understanding of volunteer management best practices and a genuine passion for empowering individuals to make a difference.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement effective strategies for the recruitment and retention of volunteers across various roles.
- Oversee the onboarding, induction, and ongoing training and development of all volunteers.
- Provide day-to-day support, guidance, and supervision to volunteers.
- Implement systems for tracking volunteer hours, managing schedules, and recognizing volunteer contributions.
- Promote volunteer opportunities within the local community and through various communication channels.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures, including safeguarding and health and safety regulations.
Requirements
- Proven experience in volunteer management or a related role, preferably within the charity sector .
- Excellent interpersonal, communication, and leadership skills.
- Demonstrated ability to recruit, train, motivate, and manage volunteers effectively.
- Strong organizational and administrative skills, with attention to detail.
- Experience in developing and implementing volunteer policies and procedures.
