Job Description
We are supporting a leading financial services organisation with the appointment of a VP-level Technology Risk professional to join their 1st Line Risk function .
This is a senior, high-profile role working closely with Technology, Operations and business leadership to identify, assess and manage technology risks across a complex and highly regulated environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Own and manage the 1st Line Technology Risk framework , ensuring technology risks are appropriately identified, assessed, mitigated and monitored.
- Partner with senior Technology and business stakeholders to embed effective risk management into day-to-day decision-making.
- Provide risk and control oversight across areas including infrastructure, cloud, cyber, applications, resilience and third-party technology.
- Lead risk assessments, control reviews, risk appetite discussions and remediation programmes.
- Challenge and advise technology leadership on emerging risks and control weaknesses.
- Develop and monitor KRIs, risk reporting and management information for senior stakeholders and governance committees.
- Support regulatory requirements and technology risk-related reviews, audits and examinations.
- Drive continuous improvement of technology risk and control frameworks across the organisation.
Candidate Profile
We are looking for a VP-level Technology Risk professional with:
- Significant experience within Technology Risk, IT Risk, Technology Controls or Operational Risk in Financial Services.
- Strong 1st Line / business-embedded risk experience rather than a purely 2nd Line oversight background.
- Experience partnering directly with senior Technology and business stakeholders.
- Strong understanding of technology risk across areas such as Cyber, Cloud, Infrastructure, Applications, Resilience and Third Parties .
- Experience operating within a highly regulated financial services environment , ideally banking, exchanges, market infrastructure or financial markets.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership.
- Experience developing risk frameworks, driving remediation and embedding effective risk and control practices.
