Vulnerability Management Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Vulnerability Management Specialist to join their growing security team in Cambridge . In this role, you will be responsible for identifying, assessing, and coordinating the remediation of security vulnerabilities across the organization's IT landscape. You will work closely with IT operations, development teams, and system administrators to ensure that risks are understood and effectively managed. This is a crucial function for maintaining a strong security posture and preventing potential cyber threats, operating within a collaborative and technically advanced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, schedule, and execute regular vulnerability scans across networks, servers, and applications.
• Analyze scan results to identify and prioritize vulnerabilities based on risk and impact.
• Coordinate with relevant teams to ensure timely remediation of identified vulnerabilities.
• Track and report on the status of vulnerability remediation efforts.
• Maintain and optimize vulnerability scanning tools and processes.
• Stay informed about emerging threats and new vulnerability types to enhance detection capabilities.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a vulnerability management or security operations role.
• Proficiency with vulnerability scanning tools (e.g., Nessus, Qualys, Rapid7).
• Strong understanding of common vulnerabilities and exploits.
• Experience with network protocols and operating systems.
• Ability to analyze technical data and provide clear, actionable recommendations.
