About the role
Whilst our warehouse is fairly small, our output is huge! The team process circa 200 postal and courier orders daily in addition to supporting our events team during the extremely busy summer air show season. We are looking for a manager with both logistical experience and great line manager skills to develop and mentor a small but growing team of Warehouse Coordinators. We need you to be fully hands on both operationally and strategically with a business mindset to improve processes and drive growth.
Key Responsibilities include
- Provide leadership and operational oversight for warehouse activities across multiple locations
- Lead, coach and develop Warehouse Coordinators and warehouse colleagues, fostering a high-performing team through effective objective setting, regular performance reviews and personalised development plans.
- Take ownership of Health & Safety compliance, risk assessments, audits and incident investigations.
- Manage warehouse KPIs and operational performance reporting.
- Liaise with suppliers to prepare and process purchase orders, report delivery issues, organise deliveries and collections
- Manage recruitment, induction, training, and workforce planning.
- Develop and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and service levels.
- Contribute to budget planning and control of warehouse expenditure.
- Support wider retail strategy through effective warehousing and logistics operations.
- Utilise vehicle fleet to transport merchandise and equipment between storage facilities
About Y ou
We're looking for someone with:
Essential criteria
- Previous warehouse management experience and leading a high performing team
- Knowledge of Health & Safety and implementing awareness and training within team
- Experience of processing high order volumes, logistics, shipping and receiving of goodsExperience of using order/inventory systems and databases
- Hands on proactive problem solver
- Commercial business mindset– process improvements, reports and analysis
- UK Driving licence essential
Desirable
- Advanced Excel and database skills
- Budget planning
- Experience within an eCommerce or multi channel retail environment
