About the Role

Our client is seeking an experienced and dynamic Warehouse Operations Supervisor to lead their team at a busy distribution center in Birmingham . You will be responsible for overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring the efficient and safe handling of goods, and managing a team of warehouse operatives. This role requires a strong leader with excellent operational knowledge and a commitment to maintaining high standards of productivity and accuracy. You will play a key part in driving operational excellence and fostering a positive and productive work environment, ensuring all safety regulations are strictly adhered to. The ideal candidate will have a hands-on approach and a proven track record in warehouse management.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of warehouse staff, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and shipping.
• Ensure all warehouse operations are conducted in a safe and efficient manner, adhering to health and safety regulations.
• Monitor inventory levels, conduct regular stock takes, and maintain accurate inventory records.
• Implement and enforce warehouse policies and procedures to optimize workflow and productivity.
• Train, motivate, and evaluate warehouse personnel, providing guidance and support.
• Manage the effective use of warehouse equipment and resources to meet operational targets.

Requirements

• Proven experience in a supervisory role within a warehouse or distribution environment.
• Strong understanding of warehouse management systems (WMS) and inventory control principles.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a warehouse setting.
• Ability to manage and motivate a team effectively.
