Warehouse Operations Supervisor

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated and experienced Warehouse Operations Supervisor to oversee their busy distribution center in Leeds . This role is critical in ensuring the efficient and accurate processing of goods, from receipt to dispatch. You will lead a team of warehouse operatives, manage daily operations, and implement best practices to optimize productivity and maintain a safe working environment. This is a hands-on role for an individual passionate about logistics and team leadership within the Greater Leeds area.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the warehouse team, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and shipping.
• Ensure all warehouse operations are conducted in accordance with company policies, safety regulations, and quality standards.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management, conducting regular cycle counts.
• Operate and ensure the safe use of warehouse equipment, such as forklifts and pallet jacks.
• Train, mentor, and motivate warehouse staff to achieve performance targets and foster a positive team culture.
• Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce operational costs.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a warehouse supervisory or team leader role.
• Demonstrated ability to manage and motivate a team of warehouse staff.
• Strong understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics best practices.
• Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS) and relevant equipment operation.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
