Warehouse Operative

About the Role

Our client is looking for a reliable and diligent Warehouse Operative to join their busy distribution centre in Edinburgh . In this hands-on role, you will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including receiving goods, picking and packing orders, and ensuring the efficient movement of stock within the warehouse. You will be an integral part of the operational team, contributing to the smooth flow of goods and maintaining a safe and organized working environment. This role demands efficiency, accuracy, and a positive attitude towards teamwork in a physically active setting.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, unpack, and accurately log incoming stock.
• Pick and pack customer orders with speed and accuracy.
• Operate warehouse equipment, such as pallet jacks and forklifts (if certified).
• Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, adhering to safety standards.
• Assist with stocktaking and inventory checks as required.
• Load and unload delivery vehicles safely and efficiently.

Requirements

• Previous experience working in a warehouse environment is preferred.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and standing for extended periods.
• Good understanding of warehouse safety procedures .
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills for reading labels and recording information.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
• Team player with the ability to follow instructions accurately.
