Warehouse Operative

About the Role

Our client is looking for a proactive and organised Warehouse Operative to join their busy logistics hub in Portsmouth . This role is fundamental to the efficient operation of our supply chain, involving the handling, storage, and dispatch of goods. You will work as part of a dedicated team, ensuring accuracy and speed in all warehouse activities. The ideal candidate will be physically fit, possess good organisational skills, and understand the importance of safety and efficiency in a warehouse environment. This is a key support role within the company's operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, and accurately log incoming inventory.
• Pick, pack, and dispatch orders efficiently and accurately according to instructions.
• Organise and maintain warehouse stock, ensuring tidy storage and easy retrieval.
• Operate warehouse equipment such as pallet trucks and forklifts (if certified) safely.
• Conduct regular stock checks and assist in inventory management processes.
• Adhere to all health and safety regulations and maintain a clean and secure working environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is preferred.
• Ability to lift and move goods safely and efficiently.
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills for record-keeping and order picking.
• Team player with good communication skills.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong work ethic.
