Warehouse Operative

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated and efficient Warehouse Operative to join their logistics team in Reading . You will be responsible for a variety of tasks within the warehouse, including receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching goods. This role is essential for ensuring the smooth and accurate flow of inventory, supporting the overall supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will be organized, physically fit, and possess a strong commitment to accuracy and safety in all warehouse activities. You will be an integral part of a team focused on efficient logistics and inventory management.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, and verify incoming stock against purchase orders.
• Pick, pack, and prepare orders for dispatch accurately and efficiently.
• Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts (if certified) and pallet jacks safely.
• Maintain accurate inventory records using warehouse management systems (WMS).
• Ensure the warehouse is kept clean, tidy, and organized, adhering to Health and Safety standards.
• Assist with stock takes and inventory checks as required.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a warehouse or logistics environment is preferred.
• Ability to perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and moving goods.
• Experience with warehouse management systems (WMS) is a plus.
• Good organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Awareness of Health and Safety regulations in a warehouse setting.
