Warehouse Operative

About the Role

Our client is looking for reliable and hardworking Warehouse Operatives to join their busy distribution centre in Southampton . You will be responsible for various tasks related to the receiving, storing, picking, packing, and dispatching of goods. This role is fundamental to the efficient operation of the warehouse, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in all duties performed. We are seeking individuals who are physically fit, possess a strong work ethic, and can work effectively as part of a team in a demanding, fast-paced environment. This is a great entry point into the logistics sector with opportunities for growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, unload, and inspect incoming goods, checking for damage or discrepancies.
• Pick and pack orders accurately and efficiently according to order specifications.
• Operate warehouse equipment, such as pallet trucks and forklifts (if certified), safely and effectively.
• Load and dispatch outgoing shipments, ensuring correct documentation is attached.
• Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
• Assist with inventory counts and stocktaking as required.

Requirements

• Previous experience working in a warehouse or similar environment is advantageous.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, standing, and walking for extended periods.
• Good understanding of warehouse safety procedures.
• Ability to work efficiently and accurately, both independently and as part of a team.
• Reliable and punctual with a strong commitment to attendance.
• Basic numeracy and literacy skills.
