Warehouse Supervisor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and experienced Warehouse Supervisor to lead a team within their busy distribution center in Portsmouth . This role involves overseeing daily warehouse operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and adherence to safety standards. You will be responsible for guiding and motivating warehouse staff, managing workflow, and ensuring that all goods are handled, stored, and dispatched correctly. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and a solid understanding of warehouse best practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and support a team of warehouse operatives, assigning tasks and monitoring performance.
• Ensure all warehouse activities, including receiving, put-away, picking, packing, and dispatch, are carried out efficiently and accurately.
• Implement and enforce all health, safety, and security procedures within the warehouse.
• Maintain optimal inventory levels through effective stock management and regular cycle counts.
• Assist in training new staff members and provide ongoing coaching to the team.
• Troubleshoot operational issues and implement solutions to ensure smooth workflow.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a supervisory role within a warehouse or logistics environment.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate a team effectively.
• Good understanding of warehouse operations, inventory management, and safety protocols.
• Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
• Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and basic computer skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to tasks.
