Warehouse Supervisor

About the Role

Our client is seeking a motivated and hands-on Warehouse Supervisor to join their busy facility in Manchester . This role is critical in ensuring the efficient and safe operation of daily warehouse activities, directly supervising a team of warehouse operatives. You will be responsible for overseeing goods inwards, storage, order picking, and dispatch, while maintaining high standards of operational performance and team morale. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership qualities and a keen eye for detail, contributing to the overall success of the logistics operations in the North West region.

Key Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of warehouse staff, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and accurately.
• Oversee the receiving, storage, and dispatch of goods, ensuring accuracy and adherence to procedures.
• Implement and enforce health and safety regulations within the warehouse environment.
• Monitor and manage warehouse inventory, conducting regular stock checks and addressing discrepancies.
• Train new employees and provide ongoing guidance and performance feedback to the warehouse team.
• Optimize warehouse layout and workflows to improve efficiency and reduce operational costs.

Requirements

• Previous experience in a supervisory role within a warehouse or logistics environment.
• Strong knowledge of warehouse operations, including inventory management and shipping/receiving processes.
• Excellent leadership and team management skills.
• Familiarity with health and safety procedures in a warehouse setting.
• Good communication and organizational abilities, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
