About the Role

Our client is seeking a diligent and physically capable Waste Management Driver (Class 2) to join their essential services team in Brighton . This role is crucial for the collection and transportation of waste and recycling materials, contributing directly to the environmental health and cleanliness of the community. You will operate a specialized Class 2 vehicle, working closely with a crew to ensure efficient and safe waste collection operations. Key Responsibilities

• Operate a Class 2 waste collection vehicle safely and responsibly on designated routes throughout Brighton .
• Work effectively as part of a collection crew, ensuring efficient bin collection and loading procedures.
• Adhere strictly to health and safety guidelines, including proper use of vehicle equipment and personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Maintain the vehicle in a clean and roadworthy condition, conducting daily checks and reporting any defects.
• Follow all regulations regarding waste disposal and recycling protocols.
• Provide a courteous service to residents and businesses encountered during rounds.

Requirements

• Valid UK Driving Licence with Class 2 (Category C) entitlement.
• Driver CPC qualification is desirable but not essential, training can be provided.
• Previous experience in waste collection or operating heavy goods vehicles is preferred.
• Good physical fitness and ability to perform manual tasks associated with waste collection.
• Awareness of environmental regulations and health and safety best practices.
