Water Resources Civil Engineer

About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Water Resources Civil Engineer to join their team, operating remotely from Glasgow , Scotland. This role is integral to managing and designing sustainable water and drainage systems for a variety of clients. You will be responsible for flood risk assessments, drainage design, and developing strategies for effective water management. Key Responsibilities

• Undertake hydraulic modeling and analysis for rivers, floodplains, and urban drainage systems.
• Design sustainable drainage systems (SuDS), foul water sewers, and surface water management plans.
• Prepare flood risk assessments (FRA) and outline planning applications.
• Conduct site investigations and surveys related to water resources and drainage.
• Liaise with environmental agencies, local authorities, and statutory consultees.
• Develop conceptual designs and detailed engineering solutions for water-related infrastructure.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering with a focus on water resources or environmental engineering.
• Experience in hydraulic modeling and drainage design software (e.g., HEC-RAS, MicroDrainage).
• Knowledge of flood risk assessment methodologies and UK drainage standards.
• Strong understanding of environmental regulations and sustainable water management principles.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, suitable for remote collaboration.
• Proven ability to manage projects independently in a remote setting.
