Water Resources Civil Engineer

About the Role

Our client seeks a dedicated Water Resources Civil Engineer to join their expanding team in Stoke-on-Trent . This role focuses on the sustainable management, conservation, and planning of water resources for a variety of civil engineering projects. You will contribute to the development of strategies for water supply, flood management, and environmental protection, working across multiple disciplines. This is an excellent opportunity for an engineer interested in the complexities of water systems and their impact on communities and the environment, offering a blend of office-based analysis and occasional site fieldwork within a supportive, hybrid working model.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct water resource assessments, including demand forecasting and supply analysis.
• Develop strategies for flood risk management, including mitigation and response planning.
• Design and assess water infrastructure, such as reservoirs, pipelines, and treatment facilities.
• Evaluate environmental impacts related to water resource development and usage.
• Liaise with environmental agencies, water authorities, and other stakeholders on water-related projects.
• Prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and environmental impact assessments.

Requirements

• Degree in Civil Engineering or Environmental Engineering with a strong focus on water resources.
• Experience in water resource planning, management, or hydraulic modelling.
• Proficiency with relevant hydrological and hydraulic modelling software.
• Understanding of water quality regulations and environmental protection principles.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and report-writing skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a team and adapt to project needs within a hybrid framework.
