About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Water Resources Civil Engineer to join their team in Bristol . This role focuses on the planning, design, and management of water-related infrastructure projects, including water supply, wastewater treatment, and flood defense systems. You will play a vital role in addressing complex water challenges, ensuring sustainable water management and protecting communities from environmental risks. The position combines office-based technical work with occasional site visits, offering a dynamic and impactful career path within a supportive, hybrid working environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop water infrastructure projects, including treatment plants, pipelines, and reservoirs.
- Conduct hydrological and hydraulic analyses for water resource management and flood modeling.
- Prepare technical designs, specifications, and contract documents for water and wastewater systems.
- Assess water quality issues and develop strategies for improvement and compliance.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies, water companies, and other stakeholders on project requirements.
- Contribute to environmental impact assessments and sustainable water management plans.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering with a specialization in Water Resources or Environmental Engineering.
- Demonstrated experience in the design and management of water or wastewater projects.
- Proficiency in water modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, EPANET) and CAD tools.
- Strong knowledge of water quality standards and environmental regulations.
- Experience with flood risk assessment and mitigation strategies.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
