About the Role
Our client is seeking a passionate Water Resources Engineer to join their environmental engineering team, contributing to projects based in and around Norwich . This role is critical in managing and optimizing water resources, focusing on areas such as flood risk assessment, drainage design, water supply, and wastewater management. You will work on diverse projects aimed at ensuring sustainable and resilient water management for communities and ecosystems. Key Responsibilities
- Conduct flood risk assessments and develop flood defense strategies.
- Design sustainable drainage systems (SuDS) for various development types.
- Analyze water supply and wastewater systems, proposing efficiency improvements and upgrades.
- Develop hydraulic models for river systems, urban drainage networks, and water distribution.
- Prepare technical reports, design documents, and environmental impact assessments related to water resources.
- Collaborate with environmental scientists, planners, and other engineers to integrate water management solutions into broader projects.
Requirements
- Degree in Civil Engineering , Environmental Engineering, or a related discipline with a focus on water resources.
- Experience in flood risk assessment, drainage design, or water infrastructure projects.
- Proficiency in hydraulic modeling software (e.g., HEC-RAS, InfoWorks ICM, SWMM) and GIS tools.
- Understanding of water management legislation, policies, and best practices in the UK.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Effective communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
