Job Description
We are looking for an experienced MIG Welder/Fabricator to join our skilled and friendly team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who takes pride in producing high-quality work and wants to develop their skills within a growing fabrication business.
Key Responsibilities
* MIG welding a range of steel fabrications, primarily mild steel.
* Reading and working from engineering drawings and welding specifications.
* Fabricating, assembling and welding components to required dimensions and tolerances.
* Preparing materials for welding, including cutting, grinding, drilling and fitting.
* Carrying out visual inspections of your own work to ensure high-quality standards are maintained.
* Working safely and efficiently while maintaining a clean and organised work area.
* Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with company procedures, quality standards and project requirements.
Essential Skills & Experience
* Previous experience as a MIG Welder/Fabricator within a steel fabrication or engineering environment.
* Strong MIG welding skills, particularly with mild steel.
* Ability to read and understand engineering/fabrication drawings.
* Good fabrication and fitting skills.
* Ability to work accurately and to specified tolerances.
* Good understanding of workshop health and safety requirements.
* Ability to work independently while also contributing effectively as part of a team.
* Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing quality work.
Desirable
* Relevant welding or fabrication qualifications.
* Experience working on structural steel or bespoke fabrication projects.
* Experience with stainless steel or aluminium fabrication.
* Experience working to recognised welding and fabrication standards.
* Experience within demanding industries such as structural, offshore, oil and gas or nuclear.
