Welsh Speaking Learning Support Assistant Needed – Newport Schools

Location: Newport.

Competitive daily rates from £90 per day (dependent on experience).

Full‑time, part‑time and flexible opportunities are available. The role starts September 2026.

Responsibilities

• Support pupils in the classroom on a 1:1 basis and in small groups.
• Help deliver engaging learning activities alongside the class teacher.
• Encourage confidence, independence and positive behaviour.
• Support pupils with a range of learning needs.
• Assist with classroom preparation and daily learning activities.
• Communicate confidently through Welsh where required.

Qualifications

• Fluent Welsh speaker (essential).
• Experience working with children or young people is essential (school, childcare, coaching, youth work, tutoring, placements or volunteering).
• Positive, patient and adaptable approach.
• Strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service, or willingness to obtain one.
