Workshop Diesel Engineer
Location : Colchester
Salary : up to 42K p.a. depending on experience
40 hour week Monday to Friday (finish early on Friday)
Do you have a passion for diesel engines and the skills to back it up? Our client is looking for a talented Workshop Diesel Engineer to join the specialist team in Colchester.
Main duties:
- diagnose, maintain and repair heavy duty diesel engines across marine, generator, fire pump and crane applications
- fault finding and troubleshooting on mechanical and fuel systems
- service and overhaul, completing service reports and documentation
They are looking for someone with:
- proven experience as a diesel engine mechanic or engineer - marine and industrial background preferred
- strong knowledge of diesel systems: fuel, cooling, turbocharging and engine controls
- experience with common rail and mechanical fuel pumps
- competence with precision measuring equipment (imperial and metric)
- basic IT skills - Word and Excel
Desirable is:
- OEM training or certification from MTU, Caterpillar, Cummins, or Volvo
- relevant mechanical or engineering qualifications
