Job Description
We are working with a reputable, family-run independent automotive service centre based in Staverton, Gloucestershire, to recruit an experienced Workshop Manager. This is a full-time permanent role offering excellent career prospects within a well-established business recognised for quality service and customer satisfaction.
Benefits
- The Workshop Manager role offers a competitive salary of up to £50,000 per annum, dependent on experience.
- Working hours are from 8:00am to 5:30pm, Monday to Friday, with a half-hour lunch break and two tea breaks.

Duties of a Workshop Manager
- Lead and organise a team of 3-4 Vehicle Technicians, managing daily schedules efficiently.
- Assist in the workshop during complex technical issues or technician absence.
- Monitor workshop progress and communicate with customers regarding vehicle status.
- Source and supply parts, ensuring timely availability for repairs.
- Complete all relevant paperwork, including returns, credits, and MOT administration.
- Cover the service reception desk in the absence of the Service Advisor.
- Discuss vehicle repairs with customers, advise on pricing, and recommend appropriate work.
- Perform ad hoc duties as required to support workshop operations.
Requirements of a Workshop Manager
- Proven experience managing a busy automotive workshop, ideally including an MOT centre.
- High technical ability, demonstrated through either an IMI/NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair or extensive practical experience as a Vehicle Technician.
- Strong customer-facing skills with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop a team.
- Excellent organisational and IT literacy skills.
- Hold a valid UK driving licence with minimal points.
- Reside within a reasonable commutable distance to Staverton.
