About the role and school

Teach Plus are currently working with a large, three-form entry primary school in Waltham Forest who are looking to appoint an enthusiastic Year 5 Teacher for an ASAP start.

The school has a strong focus on providing high-quality teaching and learning within a supportive and inclusive environment. With three classes within each year group, the successful Year 5 Teacher will benefit from working alongside an established year-group team and sharing planning, ideas and resources.

The school is looking for a committed Year 5 Teacher who can deliver engaging lessons, maintain high expectations and help pupils make strong academic and personal progress.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Year 5 Teacher or a teacher with strong KS2 experience who is looking for a supportive school in Waltham Forest.

Job Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver engaging lessons across the Year 5 curriculum.
• Maintain high expectations of attainment, behaviour and progress.
• Differentiate learning to meet the needs of all pupils.
• Assess pupil progress and use assessment to inform future planning.
• Work collaboratively with the Year 5 teaching team.
• Develop positive relationships with pupils and parents.
• Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
• Support pupils with additional needs through appropriate differentiation.
• Contribute to the wider life of the school.
• Follow school policies and safeguarding procedures.

Qualifications/Experience

• Qualified Teacher Status is essential.
• Previous UK primary teaching experience.
• Strong KS2 experience is desirable.
• Experience teaching Year 5 would be advantageous.
• Good understanding of the primary curriculum.
• Strong classroom management skills.
• Excellent communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a large year-group team.
