Role Summary

As a Year 5 Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with teaching staff to support learning across the classroom, deliver targeted interventions and provide individual support where required.

Key Responsibilities

• Support teaching and learning within Year 5 classes.
• Deliver small group interventions to reinforce learning and build confidence.
• Provide one-to-one support for pupils who require additional assistance.
• Prepare and organise classroom resources and learning materials.
• Encourage positive behaviour, engagement and participation.
• Support pupils' academic, social and emotional development.
• Monitor pupil progress and share observations with teaching staff.
• Contribute to a positive, inclusive and stimulating classroom environment.

Candidate Requirements

• Have previous experience working in a primary school, educational setting or with children.
• Are graduates interested in pursuing a career in teaching or education.
• Can build positive and professional relationships with pupils and staff.
• Are confident supporting individuals and small groups.
• Have strong communication and teamwork skills.
• Are organised, proactive and enthusiastic.
• Are committed to supporting children's learning and development.

Pay and Progression

The daily rate for this position starts at £98 per day and increases to £124 per day after 12 working weeks, subject to relevant agency worker regulations. Candidates with previous school-based experience, relevant qualifications, SEND experience, intervention delivery experience or a proven track record supporting pupil progress may be considered for opportunities at the higher pay rate where applicable.
