You will provide guidance, encouragement, and practical assistance to help them navigate independence, education, and personal development. Key Responsibilities
- Provide consistent and reliable support to young people, addressing their individual needs and aspirations.
- Assist with life skills development, including budgeting, cooking, household management, and accessing education or employment.
- Offer emotional support and guidance, acting as a positive role model.
- Facilitate positive social interactions and community engagement for the young people supported.
- Maintain accurate records of support provided, client progress, and any incidents.
- Work collaboratively with other professionals, such as social workers and educational advisors, to ensure integrated support.
Requirements
- Previous experience working with young people, ideally in a care or support setting.
- Strong understanding of the challenges faced by young people and effective support strategies.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively.
- Patience, empathy, and a non-judgmental approach.
- Ability to manage challenging behaviour appropriately and within established policies.
- Relevant qualifications in youth work, social care, or a related field are beneficial.
