Youth Engagement Officer

About the Role

Our client is seeking an enthusiastic and proactive Youth Engagement Officer to join their team in Edinburgh . This hybrid role will involve developing and delivering engaging programs and activities designed to support the personal, social, and educational development of young people in the local community. You will work directly with youth, build positive relationships, and facilitate opportunities for growth and positive outcomes. The role requires a balance of in-person outreach and coordination, with remote capabilities for planning and reporting, making it ideal for someone who thrives on interaction but also values efficient administrative processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and deliver engaging workshops, activities, and events for young people.
• Build rapport and establish positive mentoring relationships with a diverse group of young people.
• Identify the needs of young people and signpost them to relevant support services.
• Collaborate with local schools, community groups, and other stakeholders to maximise reach and impact.
• Maintain accurate records of engagement, progress, and outcomes.
• Promote positive behaviour and healthy lifestyles among participants.

Requirements

• Experience working with young people, in youth work, education, or a related field.
• Passion for youth development and a strong understanding of the challenges facing young people today.
• Excellent communication, facilitation, and group work skills.
• Ability to inspire and motivate young people.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional weekends, and adapt to a hybrid working model.
