About the Role
Our client is looking for enthusiastic and qualified Youth Sports Coaches to deliver engaging and safe sports programs for children and young people in Derby . This role involves planning and conducting high-quality coaching sessions across various sports, focusing on skill development, teamwork, and fostering a love for physical activity. You will work with children of different age groups and abilities, ensuring a positive and inclusive sporting experience. This is a flexible, rewarding part-time opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of young people in the Derbyshire community.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver fun, safe, and effective sports coaching sessions for youth participants in Derby .
- Adapt coaching techniques to suit different age groups, skill levels, and abilities.
- Promote positive values such as sportsmanship, teamwork, and respect.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all participants during coaching activities, adhering to safeguarding policies.
- Communicate effectively with parents, guardians, and centre staff regarding participant progress and activities.
- Assist in the organization and running of youth sports events and tournaments.
Requirements
- Relevant coaching qualifications and certifications (e.g., UKCC Level 1 or equivalent in a specific sport).
- Previous experience coaching children or young people in a sports setting.
- Strong understanding of child development and safeguarding best practices in the UK .
- Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to motivate and engage young people effectively.
