About the Role
Our client is seeking a passionate and engaging Youth Support Worker to join their team in Stoke-on-Trent , operating on a hybrid basis that combines remote guidance with direct engagement. This role is dedicated to supporting young people, helping them navigate adolescence, build essential life skills, and achieve their potential. You will work with youth facing various challenges, providing guidance, mentorship, and access to resources that foster personal growth and positive outcomes. This position demands creativity, empathy, and the ability to connect with young people through a mix of digital and in-person interactions, contributing to a positive future for the youth in the Stoke-on-Trent area.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide guidance and support to young people on issues such as education, employment, and personal development.
- Develop and deliver engaging activities and programmes, both remotely and in person, to promote skill-building and positive social interaction.
- Act as a mentor and positive role model for young people.
- Liaise with parents, guardians, schools, and other agencies to support the young person's development.
- Identify potential risks and safeguarding concerns, reporting them appropriately.
- Maintain accurate records of interactions, progress, and outcomes.
Requirements
- Experience working with young people in a youth work, educational, or social care setting.
- Understanding of adolescent development, challenges, and safeguarding issues.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage young people effectively.
- Proficiency in using digital platforms for communication and activity delivery.
- Ability to work within a hybrid model, balancing remote duties with community-based work.
