Youth Support Worker

About the Role

Our client is looking for a dedicated and inspiring Youth Support Worker to join their team serving the Oxford area. This role focuses on providing guidance, support, and positive role modelling for young people, helping them to navigate challenges, develop life skills, and achieve their potential. You will engage with young people through various activities and interventions, combining direct outreach and centre-based work with remote administrative and follow-up responsibilities, contributing to positive youth development outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Engaging with young people both individually and in group settings to build rapport and trust.
• Providing emotional support and guidance on issues such as education, employment, and personal development.
• Facilitating workshops and activities designed to develop life skills, resilience, and positive behaviours.
• Assisting young people in accessing relevant services and opportunities within the community.
• Maintaining accurate records of interactions, progress, and outcomes for young people.
• Collaborating with parents, carers, schools, and other agencies to ensure a coordinated approach.

Requirements

• Experience working with young people in a youth work, education, or support role.
• Understanding of adolescent development and the challenges faced by young people today.
• Excellent communication, listening, and motivational skills.
• Ability to manage challenging behaviour in a positive and constructive manner.
• Proficiency in using digital tools for communication and record-keeping.
• A passion for supporting young people to achieve their best.
