About the Role
Our client is seeking a passionate and energetic Youth Support Worker to join their team in Wolverhampton . This role involves engaging with young people, providing guidance, support, and positive role modelling to help them navigate adolescence and develop essential life skills. You will contribute to creating a safe and supportive environment where young people can thrive, both through in-person interactions and remote engagement. Key Responsibilities
- Engage with young people in a positive and constructive manner, building trusting relationships.
- Provide advice and support on issues such as education, employment, health, and well-being.
- Organize and facilitate group activities and workshops to promote skill development and social interaction.
- Support young people in accessing relevant services and opportunities.
- Monitor progress and provide feedback on individual development.
- Collaborate with parents, guardians, and other professionals involved in the young person's life.
Requirements
- Experience working with young people, preferably in a youth work or social care setting.
- Strong understanding of adolescent development and challenges faced by young people.
- Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to de-escalate conflict and manage challenging behaviour appropriately.
- Willingness to undertake hybrid working, involving both outreach and remote communication.
- Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people.
