Are you passionate about supporting young people to overcome barriers, develop positive behaviours and reach their full potential?

Tradewind Recruitment are currently looking for a dedicated and resilient Youth Worker to support in a Secondary SEMH Provision in Stockport. The students who attend this provision may struggle with behaviour, emotional regulation, engagement or social challenges.

The Role

• Providing 1:1 and small-group mentoring and support
• Building positive, trusting relationships with pupils
• Supporting students to regulate their emotions and manage challenging situations
• Helping pupils understand and make positive changes to their behaviour
• Encouraging engagement with learning and improving attendance
• Supporting pupils who may be at risk of disengaging from education
• Working alongside teachers, pastoral staff and the wider school team
• Helping pupils develop confidence, resilience and independence
• De-escalating challenging situations in a calm and professional manner
• Promoting positive behaviour and maintaining clear boundaries

About You

• Patient, calm and resilient
• Confident managing challenging behaviour
• Able to build strong relationships with young people
• Consistent and confident in maintaining boundaries
• Empathetic and understanding of the challenges young people may face
• A strong communicator and team player
• Passionate about helping young people succeed
• Able to remain calm and professional under pressure
• Experience working in secondary schools, behaviour support, pastoral care, SEMH settings, residential care or similar environments would be highly beneficial.
• We are particularly interested in candidates who have experience supporting young people with challenging behaviour, emotional regulation, SEMH needs or disengagement from education.
