Youth Worker

About the Role

Our client is looking for an energetic and dedicated Youth Worker to join their team in Edinburgh , working a hybrid model. This role is focused on engaging with young people, providing guidance, support, and opportunities for personal development through various activities and programs. You will play a key role in fostering a safe and positive environment where young people can build confidence, learn new skills, and explore their potential. This position offers a chance to contribute meaningfully to the lives of young people in the Edinburgh community, balancing engaging face-to-face sessions with remote planning and administrative tasks. A passion for youth development and excellent communication skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, organise, and deliver engaging activities and programs for young people aged 13-19.
• Build positive and trusting relationships with young people, acting as a mentor and role model.
• Support young people in identifying their interests and developing their skills, both personal and social.
• Promote positive behaviour and provide guidance on issues relevant to young people, such as health, education, and relationships.
• Maintain accurate records of participation, progress, and any safeguarding concerns.
• Collaborate with parents, schools, and other agencies to support young people effectively.

Requirements

• Experience working with young people in a youth work, educational, or community setting.
• Strong understanding of youth development principles and safeguarding procedures.
• Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work flexibly, including some evenings and weekends, as part of a hybrid model.
• Passion for empowering young people and facilitating their growth.
