Youth Worker

About the Role

Our client is seeking an energetic and dedicated Youth Worker to join their team in Edinburgh . This role focuses on engaging with young people, providing positive role modelling, and facilitating activities that promote personal development, social skills, and healthy lifestyles. You will work in both community settings and potentially remotely through online platforms, supporting young people aged 11-18. This hybrid position offers a dynamic environment where you can make a significant impact on the lives of youth in Edinburgh , fostering their growth and well-being.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging activities for young people in group and individual settings.
• Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to young people, addressing their concerns and aspirations.
• Build positive relationships with young people, acting as a trusted adult and role model.
• Promote participation, inclusion, and healthy relationships among youth.
• Liaise with parents, schools, and other relevant agencies to provide holistic support.
• Maintain records of attendance, activities, and young people's progress, and contribute to safeguarding duties.

Requirements

• Experience working with young people in a formal or informal setting.
• Understanding of youth development, adolescent issues, and safeguarding principles.
• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and group facilitation skills.
• Ability to engage positively with diverse groups of young people.
• Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasional weekends.
