As we continue to grow, we're looking for an experienced Plant Fitter to join our close-knit engineering team. You'll be an integral part of our operation, helping to keep our recycling and waste management facilities running efficiently by maintaining a modern fleet of heavy plant equipment.

BASIC SALARY: £45,000

JOB DESCRIPTION: Plant Fitter, Heavy Plant Engineer - heavy machinery, engineering, recycling equipment

As our Plant Fitter, you'll be responsible for servicing, maintaining and repairing a wide range of heavy plant and recycling equipment.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:
· Carrying out planned servicing and preventative maintenance.
· Diagnosing and repairing mechanical, hydraulic, electrical and pneumatic faults.
· Responding to breakdowns and returning machinery to service as quickly and safely as possible.
· Completing inspections to identify wear before it becomes a problem.
· Replacing components and carrying out repairs to manufacturer standards.
· Maintaining accurate maintenance records and job documentation.
· Working closely with the operations team to prioritise repairs and minimise downtime.

PERSON SPECIFICATION: Plant Fitter, Heavy Plant Engineer - heavy machinery, engineering, recycling equipment

We're looking for someone who enjoys fixing problems, takes pride in their workmanship and wants to be part of a supportive team where their contribution is recognised.

Ideally, you'll have:
· Previous experience as a Plant Fitter, Plant Mechanic or Heavy Plant Engineer.
· Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
· Experience working on hydraulic, electrical and mechanical systems.
· Good knowledge of diesel engines and heavy plant equipment.
· Experience carrying out preventative maintenance and inspections.
· A full UK Driving Licence.

It would also be great if you have
· Welding or fabrication experience.
· Experience within recycling, quarrying, waste management or construction.
· Hydraulic hose repair experience.
· Plant operating licences.
