NHP’s head office and manufacturing facility is based in Staffordshire, and we have a sales office in Chelmsford. We have nationwide coverage with a large amount of work being in Central London and the surrounding Home Counties.

Our key area of expertise is to offer tailor made systems and packages to suit all applications pertaining to building services, civils structures and water utilities. This enables us to offer efficient and trouble-free drainage and sewage solutions to aid consultants and contractors with their design and installation.

Due to the organic growth of the company, we are looking to expand and add key staff to the sales team.

The Role:
The primary responsibility is to manage and develop relationships with existing customers whilst identifying and securing new business opportunities. The role is predominantly field based, with most of the time spent visiting customer sites, carrying out surveys, understanding client requirements, and providing tailored solutions for both service and project works.

On a day-to-day basis, this requires meeting with facilities managers, contractors, consultants, and end users to discuss their operational challenges and identify opportunities to improve the reliability and efficiency of their pumping systems.

Conducting site inspections to assess existing installations, investigate issues, and recommend appropriate solutions ranging from routine servicing and preventative maintenance through to complete pump replacements, pipework modifications, control panel upgrades, and capital projects.

Responsible for specifying pumps, pipework alterations, valves, controls, and associated mechanical equipment, ensuring that all proposed solutions are technically suitable and commercially viable.

Following site visits, working with the SRM team in Cheadle to issue detailed quotations and proposals for servicing, remedial works, reactive repairs, and project installations.

To farm and grow existing contracts by maintaining regular contact with customers, identifying additional opportunities, and ensuring a high level of service is delivered.

Alongside the management of existing accounts, actively pursue new business opportunities by generating leads, attending customer meetings, conducting site surveys, and converting prospects into long-term clients.

Focusing on developing strong customer relationships, expanding contract coverage, and winning new sites through a consultative and solution-led sales approach.

Maintaining a strong sales pipeline, keeping detailed records of customer interactions and opportunities, and work towards achieving agreed sales and profitability targets.

The role requires a combination of technical knowledge, commercial awareness, and excellent customer service skills to deliver successful outcomes for both the customer and the business.

Main Roles and Responsibilities:

Conduct customer site visits and technical surveys.

Advise on pumps, pipework modifications, controls and associated equipment.

Target Facilities Maintenance companies, Developers and Contractors with our SRM offering.

Winning new sites and generating new business opportunities.

Maintain existing relationships within designated sales area and build own client database.

Support the internal and external sales teams.

Maintain call rates and calendar on chosen CRM system as defined by the UK Sales Manager.

Achieve sales growth, margin and customer retention targets.

Act as the primary point of contact for customers within the designated sales area.

Key Tasks:

Promote NHP as a business and explain products/services that we offer.

Cold call new customers to make contact and arrange meetings.

Use initiative to find and create new opportunities for NHP.

Provide a professional and timely telephone response to any customer query relating to
quotations or new enquiries.

Carry out site surveys to determine the correct SRM package.

Follow up quotations with a phone call to the customer to resolve any questions on price, delivery or technical specification.

Develop a working relationship with internal/external sales teams to ensure quotation
enquiries are handled in a prompt and efficient manner.

Develop product and technical knowledge.

Abilities:

Proven excellence in a technical sales role

Work with the minimum of supervision.

Read and understand mechanical drawings and technical information.

Deal with multiple tasks simultaneously.

Numerically accurate.

Computer literate - MS Office package including Excel.

Communication skills - written, telephone, interpersonal with a focus on building positive
client relationships.

Positive attitude/ team player.

Demonstrate commercial awareness.

Up to date and accurate record keeping & time keeping.

Understanding pump curves and selections.

Key Skills:

Clean UK driving Licence.

Sales experience; face to face, over the phone and emails.

Estimating skills.

Knowledge of engineering, construction and design of packaged pumping stations (private & adoptable).

Knowledge of NHP route to market and confident with presenting technical information to Facilities Maintenance companies, Developers and Contractors.

Knowledge of pumping systems in terms of head and flow calculations.

Knowledge of submersible pump applications
