1:1 Secondary Tutor - St Helens

Location: St Helens Hours: 5-15 hours per week Start Date: September 2026 Duration: Ongoing

Prospero Teaching are looking for an experienced 1:1 Secondary Tutor to provide personalised educational support to a learner in St Helens.

The successful tutor will be able to establish a positive rapport, work independently and tailor lessons to the learner's academic level, interests and individual targets.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver engaging 1:1 secondary tuition Plan structured sessions around learner targets Support development across core subjects Adapt resources and teaching methods Encourage positive engagement with learning Build confidence and independent study skills Monitor and report on progress

Requirements

Previous experience teaching or tutoring secondary-aged learners Strong subject knowledge Experience delivering 1:1 support desirable Excellent communication and organisational skills Adaptable and learner-centred approach Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one Right to Work in the UK Two professional child-related references
