1:1 Secondary Tutor - Halton
Location: Halton
Hours: 5-15 hours per week
Start Date: September 2026
Duration: Ongoing
Prospero Teaching are seeking an enthusiastic 1:1 Secondary Tutor to support a learner in Halton through flexible, personalised tuition.
We are looking for an educator who can work independently, establish a strong rapport with the learner and tailor sessions to their academic needs, abilities and interests.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver structured 1:1 secondary tuition
- Plan lessons around individual learning targets
- Support progress across core subjects
- Adapt teaching strategies and learning materials
- Encourage positive engagement with education
- Develop confidence and independent learning skills
- Monitor and communicate learner progress
Requirements
- Previous experience teaching or tutoring secondary-aged learners
- Strong subject knowledge
- Experience delivering 1:1 support desirable
- Excellent communication and organisational skills
- Flexible, patient and learner-focused approach
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service or willingness to obtain one
- Right to Work in the UK
- Two professional child-related references
