1:1 SEN Tutor (Core Subjects) - L23 Merseyside
Location: L23, Merseyside
Hours: Part-Time, School Hours (Weekdays)
Pay: £25 - £30 per hour , dependent on experience and qualifications
About the Role
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate 1:1 SEN Tutor to provide tailored educational support to learners in the L23 area of Merseyside . This rewarding role involves delivering personalised tuition during weekday school hours , supporting students with Special Educational Needs (SEN) across core subjects including English, Maths, and Science.
You will play a vital role in helping students build confidence, re-engage with learning, overcome barriers to education, and achieve their full potential.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver engaging 1:1 tuition sessions tailored to individual learning needs.
- Support students in core subjects, including English, Maths, and Science.
- Adapt teaching strategies to meet a range of SEN needs, including ASD, ADHD, SEMH, and other learning difficulties.
- Plan and deliver personalised lessons that promote engagement and progress.
- Monitor student progress and maintain accurate records.
- Build positive and supportive relationships with students, families, and relevant professionals.
- Encourage student confidence, independence, and a positive attitude towards learning.
Requirements
- Minimum 1 year of teaching or tutoring experience within the UK.
- Experience working with children or young people with SEN.
- Strong knowledge of the UK curriculum and core subjects.
- Ability to deliver personalised and differentiated learning.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one).
- Right to work in the UK.
Desirable
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), PGCE, or relevant teaching/tutoring qualification.
- Experience supporting students with SEND, SEMH, or those out of mainstream education.
- Previous experience delivering 1:1 tuition.
- Knowledge of EHCPs and targeted intervention strategies.
