Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, and manage 5G core network elements, including RAN, transport, and management systems.
• Conduct performance analysis, capacity planning, and optimisation of the 5G network to meet evolving service demands.
• Troubleshoot complex network issues, perform root cause analysis, and implement effective resolution strategies.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams on new feature integration, interoperability testing, and technology trials.
• Develop and maintain technical documentation, network diagrams, and operational procedures.
• Stay current with 5G standards, industry trends, and emerging technologies, providing expert insights and recommendations.

Requirements

• Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field; relevant experience may substitute for advanced degrees.
• Significant experience in mobile network engineering, with a deep specialization in 5G technologies (NSA/SA).
• Proficiency with 5G core network architecture, RAN technologies (e.g., NR, LTE), and virtualisation (NFV/SDN).
• Experience with network simulation, performance testing, and optimisation tools.
• Strong understanding of IP networking, security principles, and cloud-native architectures.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills, vital for a role based in Edinburgh .
