About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and empathetic Academic Advisor focused on Student Success . You will guide students through their academic journey, helping them to set goals, navigate university policies, and make informed decisions about their studies and future careers. This role is essential for fostering a supportive learning environment and ensuring students achieve their full potential. Working directly with students on campus in Derby , you will be a key point of contact and a valuable resource for the student body.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-on-one academic advising to students regarding course selection, degree progression, and academic planning.
• Assist students in identifying and achieving their academic and career goals through personalized guidance.
• Connect students with appropriate university resources, such as tutoring, counseling, and career services.
• Monitor student academic performance and intervene proactively to support those facing challenges.
• Facilitate workshops and information sessions on topics such as study skills, time management, and career exploration.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student records and track student progress.

Requirements

• A Bachelor's degree in Psychology, Education, Counseling, or a related field.
• Previous experience in academic advising, counseling, or student support services is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of university academic policies and procedures.
• Excellent active listening, communication, and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to build rapport with a diverse student population and maintain confidentiality.
