About the Role

Our client is seeking a dedicated and student-focused Academic Advisor to support students at their campus in Edinburgh . In this hybrid role, you will play a crucial part in guiding students through their academic journeys, helping them navigate course selection, degree requirements, and career planning. You will work collaboratively with faculty and student support services to foster a positive and successful learning environment. Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive academic advising to a caseload of students, assisting with course registration and degree planning.
• Monitor student academic progress and intervene proactively to support students facing challenges.
• Inform students about academic policies, procedures, and available campus resources.
• Assist students in exploring career options and connecting academic pursuits with future goals.
• Facilitate workshops on topics such as study skills, time management, and career exploration.
• Maintain accurate and confidential student records.
• Collaborate with faculty, admissions, and other student services departments to ensure a cohesive support network.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in a relevant field; a Master's degree in Higher Education, Counseling, or a related area is preferred.
• Previous experience in academic advising, counseling, or student affairs in a higher education setting.
• Strong understanding of academic policies and curriculum structures.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and active listening skills.
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population.
• Proficiency in student information systems and standard office software.
