Accounts Assistant 📍 Location: Worcestershire ⏳ Contract Type: Temporary 💼 Salary: Competitive 🚀 Start Date: ASAP The Opportunity We are currently recruiting for an Accounts Assistant to join a busy finance team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with previous experience working within an accountancy practice who is looking to start immediately.

You will possess a solid understanding of core accounting principles, alongside exposure to basic tax compliance and self-assessment processes.

Key Responsibilities

Bank reconciliations and maintaining accurate financial records Assisting with the preparation of VAT returns Supporting month-end processes and management accounts preparation Liaising with clients and responding to finance-related queries Assisting with bookkeeping duties across a portfolio of clients Supporting the preparation and submission of self-assessment tax returns Assisting with basic personal tax computations Maintaining client records and ensuring compliance deadlines are met General finance administration and ad hoc support to the wider team Candidate Requirements Previous experience working within an accountancy practice is essential Experience of bookkeeping and management of day-to-day accounting records Exposure to self-assessment tax returns and basic tax compliance duties Proficiency with accounting software such as Xero, Sage, QuickBooks or similar Strong attention to detail and organisational skills Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal AAT qualified or currently studying (desirable but not essential) Able to work independently and manage multiple priorities What's on Offer Immediate start available Friendly and supportive working environment Opportunity to develop tax and accounting knowledge further Exposure to a varied client portfolio If you are an experienced Accounts Assistant with accountancy practice experience and a working knowledge of tax and self-assessment, we'd love to hear from you.
