About the Role
Our client is looking for a detail-oriented and organized Accounts Payable Specialist to join their finance team in Wolverhampton . This role is integral to ensuring that all supplier invoices are processed accurately and efficiently, payments are made on time, and financial records are maintained meticulously. You will be a key player in managing the accounts payable function, contributing to the overall financial stability and operational efficiency of the company. This hybrid position offers a balance of in-office collaboration and remote work flexibility, supporting a healthy work-life integration within the West Midlands.
Key Responsibilities
- Process all incoming supplier invoices, ensuring they are coded correctly and approved in a timely manner.
- Prepare and execute weekly payment runs, verifying accuracy and adherence to payment terms.
- Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies or outstanding queries promptly.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date vendor master files and ensure compliance with payment policies.
- Assist with month-end close procedures related to accounts payable.
- Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers to resolve invoice and payment issues.
Requirements
- Proven experience in an Accounts Payable role, with a strong understanding of AP processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Xero, Sage, QuickBooks) and MS Excel.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and invoice processing.
- Good organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks effectively.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills for dealing with suppliers and internal teams.
- Familiarity with UK VAT regulations related to supplier payments is advantageous.
