Accounts Payable Specialist

About the Role

Our client is looking for a meticulous and efficient Accounts Payable Specialist to join their finance team remotely. This role is critical for ensuring the timely and accurate processing of all supplier invoices and payments. You will be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with vendors, resolving discrepancies, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the accounts payable function. Key Responsibilities

• Process all incoming supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner, ensuring proper coding and approvals.
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve any discrepancies or outstanding issues promptly.
• Prepare and process weekly or bi-weekly payment runs via bank transfer, cheque, or other agreed methods.
• Maintain accurate vendor master data and ensure all relevant information is up-to-date.
• Respond to vendor inquiries and internal queries regarding payments and invoice status.
• Assist with month-end closing procedures related to accounts payable.

Requirements

• Proven experience in an Accounts Payable role, demonstrating a strong understanding of AP processes.
• Proficiency with accounting software (e.g., Xero, QuickBooks, Sage) and Microsoft Excel .
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail, ensuring accuracy in all tasks.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills for liaising with vendors and internal stakeholders.
• Ability to work independently and manage workload effectively in a remote setting.
• Familiarity with VAT regulations pertaining to supplier invoices is advantageous.
