Accounts Receivable Specialist

About the Role

Our client is seeking a proactive and organised Accounts Receivable Specialist to manage their revenue collection processes in Reading . This role is fundamental to maintaining the company's cash flow by ensuring timely collection of outstanding invoices and managing customer accounts effectively. You will be the first point of contact for customer billing inquiries and will work to resolve payment issues efficiently. Key Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end accounts receivable process, including invoicing, payment processing, and collections.
• Contact customers to follow up on overdue accounts and negotiate payment plans where necessary.
• Reconcile customer accounts and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
• Prepare and analyse aged debtor reports and provide commentary on collection performance.
• Process customer payments and allocate them correctly in the accounting system.
• Collaborate with the sales and customer service teams to resolve billing issues and improve collection rates.

Requirements

• Previous experience in an Accounts Receivable or credit control role.
• Proficiency with accounting software and Microsoft Excel .
• Strong understanding of the accounts receivable cycle and debt collection practices.
• Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a busy office environment.
