About the Role
Our client is seeking a talented and ambitious Actuarial Analyst to join their fully remote actuarial team, supporting operations across the UK, including based out of Edinburgh . This role is fundamental to pricing, reserving, and risk management within the insurance sector. You will leverage sophisticated mathematical and statistical models to assess financial risk, forecast future outcomes, and support strategic business decisions. Key Responsibilities
- Develop, maintain, and enhance actuarial models for pricing, reserving, and financial forecasting.
- Analyze insurance data to identify trends, assess risk exposure, and support product development.
- Perform experience studies and conduct variance analysis of actual results versus projections.
- Assist in the preparation of regulatory actuarial reports and documentation.
- Collaborate with underwriters, claims handlers, and finance teams to provide actuarial insights.
- Stay abreast of regulatory changes and industry best practices in actuarial science.
Requirements
- Progress towards or completion of actuarial examinations (e.g., Institute and Faculty of Actuaries).
- Proven experience as an Actuarial Analyst or similar role within the insurance industry.
- Strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in actuarial software, statistical packages, and programming languages (e.g., R, Python, VBA).
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences.
