About the Role
Our client is seeking a bright and motivated Actuarial Analyst to join their team in Cambridge . This role is central to the financial health of the company, involving complex data analysis, pricing, reserving, and risk modelling for various insurance products. You will work closely with senior actuaries and other departments to provide critical insights that inform business strategy and product development. This hybrid position allows for focused analytical work remotely, complemented by in-person collaboration with colleagues at our client's Cambridge offices.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the development and maintenance of actuarial models for pricing, reserving, and financial forecasting.
- Analyze large datasets to identify trends, assess risks, and support strategic decision-making.
- Support the pricing of new and existing insurance products, ensuring profitability and competitiveness.
- Contribute to the preparation of regulatory actuarial reports and documentation.
- Collaborate with underwriters, claims teams, and finance departments to provide actuarial expertise.
- Pursue actuarial qualifications through ongoing study and examinations.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related quantitative field.
- Progress towards actuarial qualifications (e.g., passing actuarial exams).
- Strong analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills.
- Proficiency in data analysis tools and programming languages such as R, Python, or SQL.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts.
