Aerospace Design Engineer - Mechanical

About the Role

Our client is looking for a talented Aerospace Design Engineer with a specialization in Mechanical Systems to join their team in Reading . This role involves conceptualizing, designing, and developing intricate mechanical components and systems for aircraft. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams, transforming concepts into detailed designs that meet stringent aerospace performance, safety, and manufacturability requirements. This is a key position for driving innovation and ensuring the mechanical integrity of aircraft across various projects.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop mechanical systems and components for aircraft using CAD software.
• Perform stress analysis, thermal analysis, and kinematic simulations to validate designs.
• Create detailed engineering drawings, Bill of Materials (BOMs), and technical specifications.
• Collaborate with manufacturing engineers to ensure designs are optimized for production and assembly.
• Participate in design reviews, providing and receiving constructive feedback to enhance product quality.

Requirements

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related Aerospace discipline.
• Significant experience in mechanical design within the aerospace industry, utilizing CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks).
• Strong understanding of mechanical principles, materials, and manufacturing processes relevant to aerospace.
• Experience with Finite Element Analysis (FEA) and other simulation tools.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a proactive approach to design challenges in Reading .
